I’ve installed Wordpress a lot of times, but I’ve never encountered this problem before. When I got everything ready to go, I logged into my account and instead of showing the admin interface, it showed my index page back on my main website. Also, when I try to see my Wordpress blog, it doesn’t show, only the index page.
I uploaded in its own directory, so I’m not sure how the index page keeps on showing up. I’ve tried deleting the index page, but it just shows the default white space.
If anyone can help, that’d be great.

Sounds like you’re getting a redirect from .htaccess (is this an Apache server?) that you don’t want.
In which case, you need to crank up your FTP client, delete .htaccess, and try again.

I’m sorry I don’t know the answer to your question, but I would recommend asking your question on the Wordpress forums. Someone on there would probably have abetter idea of what the problem is.
